Sustainability – Fresh with a Purpose
At Stadwell, sustainability is not an add-on. It is built into how we source, move, and deliver fresh produce. Our responsibility is to protect resources, support farming communities, and give buyers confidence that their supply chain is responsible as well as reliable.
Caring for the Land
We partner with growers who use sustainable practices such as crop rotation, cover crops, and reduced chemical inputs. Healthy soils, rich biodiversity, and resilient ecosystems are the foundation of our supply.
Water Stewardship
Efficient irrigation and water management are key. Many of our growers employ drip irrigation and rainwater collection, ensuring crops get exactly what they need with minimal waste.
Energy & Carbon
We are actively reducing emissions across the chain from field operations to transport. This means optimising load efficiency, using renewable energy at farm level where possible, and trialling lower-carbon packaging solutions.
Sustainable Sourcing
Bringing the world’s best fruits, vegetables, and herbs to the UK market fresh, nutritious, and right on time.
Waste & Circularity
We work to ensure nothing goes to waste. Produce that doesn’t meet retail spec is directed into wholesale, processing, or community use. Packaging reduction and recyclable alternatives are central to our innovation roadmap.
People & Communities
Behind every piece of produce is a farmer, a family, and a community. Stadwell is committed to safe working conditions, fair contracts, and reinvesting value into grower communities through training and development.
Governance & Standards
Every programme is supported by international certifications including GlobalG.A.P, GRASP, Organic, and SMETA. Traceability, audit-readiness, and ethical sourcing are the pillars of our governance framework.
